I started reading The Librarian of Auschwitz for a book club this month. I love historical fiction set during WWII, especially holocaust stories. I am amazed by what people survived during the holocaust. So naturally, with my love of this setting and my being a librarian and all, I was sure I was going to devour this book.
It’s based on real people, the main character is a real girl, they didn’t even change her name. But something about the writing style just isn’t doing it for me. I’m only 50 pages in and I’ll give it another 50 before I move on, but I really hope I get to a point soon where I can’t put it down.
